The 11th China International Dye Industry, Pigment and Textile Chemicals Exhibition ("China Interdye 2011") Kicks off on April 26
Industry Advancement Depends on Technological Innovation
Long-term Development Begins with Clean Production
SHANGHAI, April 18, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The 11th China International Dye Industry, Pigment and Textile Chemicals Exhibition ("China Interdye 2011") will be held at INTEX Shanghai and ShanghaiMart from April 26th-28th, 2011. The event is organized by the China Dyestuff Industry Association, the China Dyeing and Printing Association, the Shanghai Sub-Council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the Shanghai Chamber of the China Chamber of International Commerce, and Shanghai International Exhibition Co., Ltd. China Interdye occupies 25,000 square meters of exhibition space and attracts over 450 Chinese and international exhibitors from 14 countries and regions including many international giants such as DyStar, BASF, Tanatex, Huntsman, Yorkshire, Novozymes, Clariant, Lamberti, Bozzetto, M. Dohem and renowned Chinese companies such as Longsheng, Runtu, Jihua, Yabang, Huali, Transfar, Dymatic, Anoky, Melida, and Jeco, as well as numerous national and regional representative groups from India, South Korea, Taiwan, and Tianjin, among other places.
During China's 11th Five-year Plan, China's gross production of dyestuffs ranked first in the world, accounting for 60% of all dyestuffs produced globally. According to statistics, China produced a total of 756,000 tons of dyestuffs in 2010, an increase of 5% year-on-year; sales revenues were RMB 39.6 billion, an increase of 10.9% year-on-year, and production more or less returned to its pre-financial crisis levels. Exports hit 273,000 tons, an increase of 14.7% year-on-year, and foreign exchange earned through export was USD$1.175 billion, an increase of 27.7% year-on-year. Exports of organic pigments were 154,000 tons, an increase of 30.8% year-on-year, and foreign exchange earned through export was USD$1.023 billion, an increase of 42.3% year-on-year.
However, owing to the pressing importance of developing a low-carbon and circular economy and promoting energy efficiency and emissions reduction, the development of China's dyestuffs industry during China's 12th Five-year Plan must start with a transition from the exploitation of resources to the improvement of the industry structure, from an emphasis on quantitative growth to an emphasis on qualitative growth, and from a pursuit of purely economic growth to a pursuit of growth in all senses of the word. The upgrading of the industry, promotion of energy efficiency, reduction of pollutant emissions, growth of clean production, and increase in regulation will all be important issues relevant to the development of the industry.
Clean production key for dyestuffs industry: enterprise exhibitors triumph through quality
The sustained development and promotion of clean production technology will create favorable conditions for the sustainable development of the dyestuffs industry as it focuses on reducing the waste of water, gas, and industrial residue. Catalytic technology, sulfonation technology, solvolysis reaction technology and other clean production technologies and recycling technologies will enable an annual reduction of 12 million tons of waste water and 300,000 tons of COD (chemical oxygen demand), lowering production and administration costs and saving a great amount of water resources. By the end of China's 12th Five-year Plan, waste water and COD generated by China's dyestuffs industry will have been cut by 10% from the rates of the 11th Five-year Plan period, and will account for 15% and 18% of the industry's total production respectively. It is for this purpose that China Interdye 2011 will once again establish a special exhibition zone focusing on environmental protection and energy saving technologies. DyStar, Braun, South Korea's RIFA, and China's Longsheng and Runtu, as well as a great number of other industry-leading companies, will once again exhibit the newest technologies for whose core and critical technologies they independently own all patents, copyrights and trademarks, and these companies will strive to gain increased market share through their superior product quality.
The development of organic pigments and their brand development
The rapid growth of the Chinese and international printing, paint, plastics, fibers, and other related industries is spurring the development of the Chinese organic pigment industry. During the time period of China's 11th Five-year Plan, China's organic pigment industry maintained an annual production rate of around 180,000 to 220,000 tons, and in 2010, annual production exceeded 220,000 tons, accounting for around 40% of all production of organic pigments in the world. However, high-performance organic pigment made up a relatively small portion of this amount, which was the main reason for the fierce price competition and resulting drop in the rate of profits, and the majority of companies' exports are still realized through processing trade and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). This year, well-known exhibiting enterprises that produce high-performance organic pigments, including Shanghai's Jeco, Hebei's Meilida, and Shanghai Silian, will show off their achievements in brand development. Additionally, a number of rapidly developing small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will participate in the exhibition, demonstrating from yet another angle the crucial transition China is undergoing, as it transforms itself from a big producer of organic pigments into a strong producer of organic pigments.
The rapid expansion of auxiliary industries: China Interdye covers it all
In recent years, China's dyeing and printing auxiliary industries and applications of their products have made great strides. As China's auxiliary industries have steadily grown, continual growth in production and product variety has also led to even more rapid growth for the Chinese and international enterprises in the auxiliary industry that exhibit at China Interdye. Since BASF, Huntsman, Yorkshire, Novozymes, Daikin Fluorochemicals, and other industry-leading enterprises plan to expand their presence at the exhibition, China Interdye 2011 will expand to occupy an additional 4,000 square meters of space on the second and third floors of ShanghaiMart. At the exhibition, 108 exhibitors, including Fibrechem Technologies Limited, KDN Biotech Group, Boao Chemical, and Huake, will participate for the first time, mainly displaying auxiliary and surface active agents as well as pattern-related products and equipment. Among these enterprises, many are new-model environmentally friendly textile auxiliary product manufacturers, which have risen to satisfy the continually increasing demand in the Chinese and international textile markets for green textile products.
Additionally, the China Dyeing and Printing Association, the China Wool Textile Industry Association, the China Knitting Industry Association, the China Bast and Leaf Fibres Textile Association, the Ink Branch of the China Daily-used Chemical Industry Association, the Masterbatches Speciality Committee of China Dyestuff Industry Association, and the Textile Printing Auxiliaries and Organic Pigment Speciality Committees of the China Dyestuff Industry Association, among other organizations, will hold special forums and seminars during the exhibition, in order to provide an opportunity for professional attendees to cooperate and exchange information. Well-known enterprises including Lamberti, Hohenstein, Dymatic, Transfar, Chengda, and Skycenter Chemicals Limited will hold workshops to introduce and exchange advanced technologies and ideas.
