NINGBO, China, April 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The 13th China International Consumer Goods Fair and the Central and Eastern European Countries' Products Expo 2014 will be held in Ningbo, from June 8 to 11, 2014.
China International Consumer Goods Fair, co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, is one of the four largest import and export fairs in China. It is divided into four sections: kitchenware, living-room and bedroom items, sanitary and bathroom products and imports.
The Central and Eastern European Countries' Products Expo organized by the Ministry of Commerce will be held concurrently. Characteristic products from the 16 CEE countries will be exhibited then.
Nowadays Ningbo has become one of the most important trade ports along the eastern coast of China, like Rotterdam or Frankfort to the Continent. The cargo throughput of Ningbo Port is 496 million tons in 2013, ranking the third in mainland China and the fourth in the world. 221 countries and regions have direct trade contact with Ningbo.
Ningbo is also a famous cultural and historic city, where Tianyige Pavilion, the oldest personal library is located. It is an exemplification of the inheritance of cultivation and reading in Confucian tradition. The earliest cultivated rice in China is found 20 kilometers away, in Neolithic Hemudu site which has a history of over 7,000 years. Even the traditional food Tangyuan, a kind of glutinous dumpling with filling with a meaning of union, denotes Chinese unique culture by its simple yet elegant shape and the sweet taste.
