The American Association of Heart Failure Nurses (AAHFN) Launches Heart Failure Nursing Certification: Core Curriculum Review Guide
MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., April 19, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Association of Heart Failure Nurses (AAHFN) announced the release of the Heart Failure Nursing Certification: Core Curriculum Review.
This is the official study guide for AAHFN's certification exam. The publication is also a valuable resource for all nurses who provide care to patients with heart failure. Using guidelines and evidence-based data, the Core Curriculum Review outlines the process of planning, implementing, and evaluating care for heart failure patients.
Heart failure is a common and complex syndrome that affects nearly five million Americans of all ages, though it's more prevalent in the elderly where it remains the #1 cause for hospitalizations in the Medicare population. Over 400,000 new cases of heart failure will be diagnosed in the next year.
"AAHFN is proud to be in the forefront of heart failure nursing, and the Core Curriculum Review is the first of its kind to completely outline all of the information a nurse would need in order to care for heart failure patients in any setting. We needed to write a review publication for the exam, but this has turned out to be much more comprehensive than a review book," comments Sara Paul, DNP, FNP, editor of the Core Curriculum Review.
