The Art Institutes Announces 2nd Annual Art Educators Appreciation Gallery Shows

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- This March and April, more than 50 Art Institutes locations (The Art Institutes) in the United States will host What Those Who Teach Can Do, a national collaboration of gallery shows to pay tribute to talented arts educators across the country. Each Art Institutes school will feature local high school art and media educators' artwork in a month-long exhibition to celebrate their creativity and thank them for positively affecting the lives of so many students.

"We're celebrating these educators as champions of our communities," said John Mazzoni, President, The Art Institutes. "Teachers work endlessly to cultivate skills and talents in our area high school students, and now we want to shine a light on the talent they use every day to inspire."

This year will mark The Art Institutes' second nationwide celebration highlighting educators' artistic work, commitment and passion. "Teachers do so much, more than we can ever see," said Mazzoni. "We invite art and media educators to submit their work, and the communities to come out and support them at the gallery receptions."

Artwork for submission can include, but is not limited to painting, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, video, design, digital media, film, photography, illustration, fiber, and/or fiber arts. There is a limit of one entry per participant, and all art must be exhibition-ready for immediate installation.
