The Aspen Institute will Hold the Annual Resnick Aspen Action Forum July 27 - 31, 2017

ASPEN, Colo., July 27, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Aspen Institute is pleased to announce the 2017 Resnick Aspen Action Forum. Over 380 participants, including Aspen Global Leadership Network Fellows, other entrepreneurial leaders from Aspen Institute programs, partners, and invited participants, will gather in Aspen, Colorado from July 27 through July 31, 2017. The theme of this year's Action Forum is "The Great Re-Set," which will focus on how, as leaders, to adapt to major global shifts in politics, economics, science, technology, and more without compromising one's fundamental moral values.

All sessions during these five days are designed to inspire concrete actions that will address critical social challenges in the more than 30 countries represented. The Action Forum gives some of the world's most innovative leaders – most from business but many from government and civil society organizations - opportunities to learn from one another and to expand their impact by embracing diversity, sharing, and collaboration.

"With so many major global shifts afoot, from surprise decisions by voters throughout the world, to unprecedented movements of people, to technological advances we could only dream about just a few years ago, and so much more, this is certainly a time when we need courageous, enlightened leadership," said Peter Reiling, Executive Vice President for Leadership at the Aspen Institute. Each leader attending the Action Forum is asked to make an Action Pledge, a public commitment to address a pressing societal challenge. Since 2013, over 1,000 Action Pledges have been made. Fellows often collaborate and support one another in fulfilling their pledges.  They also get assistance from a range of programs created for that purpose by the Aspen Institute. Announced at the Action Forum this year is an expansion of one of those programs -- a partnership with law firm Paul Hastings LLP, which has offered to provide up to 500 hours of pro bono professional support from their legal, communications, marketing, finance, IT and HR departments in support of AGLN Fellows' Action Pledges and leadership ventures.
