HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority has continued its partnership with the Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) in addressing hospital-acquired conditions.
Starting this fall, the Authority will lead four patient safety areas of focus under HAPs contract in the Partnership for Patients Hospital Improvement Innovation Network (HIIN).
In partnership with HAP, the only Pennsylvania-HIIN contract awardee by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Authority will focus on adverse drug events, falls, diagnostic error, and culture of safety.
"We are confident in the collaborative-improvement efforts the Authority can guide in these patient safety areas," said Christina M. Hunt, director of collaborative programs for the Authority. "The Authority will continue to build on the success of previous work with HAP to increase positive outcomes for patients."
The Authority has published free resources for healthcare facilities on all four of these patient safety topics, including research articles, posters, brochures, and other educational materials.
