The Beacon Group's Brian Menickella Releases New Edition of White Paper "The Perfect Storm for America's Retirement Plans"

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Sept. 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Brian Menickella, founding partner of The Beacon Group of Companies and head of the firm's corporate retirement practice, released a new edition of his free white paper that reflects changes in the Department of Labor's fiduciary rule since its release in December 2016.

This new edition explains the implications of The Department of Labor's (DOL) new fiduciary rule and its recent updates. Brokers offering advice on retirement savings accounts are required to put clients' interests first as of June 9, 2017. The Department of Labor (DOL) fiduciary rule, officially took effect then, after delays and considerable angst. The DOL has said it will not enforce the rule until after July 1, 2019, when the requirements about disclosures and new contracts are set to take effect.

Menickella is a long-time advocate of leveling the playing field between brokers and Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), and believes investment advice should always be in the best interest of the client. He has written extensively about lawsuits and other actions fueling these changes in his Forbes column.
