TUSCON, Ariz., Feb. 13, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Black America Foundation announced today a global fundraising campaign to further the advancement of Black Americans with a full plan and case for support available on blackamericafoundation.org.
The campaign is directed by Ken Jones, an accomplished business and social sector leader. In his short career, Jones has raised over $20 million dollars for education, foster youth, the Catholic church, hunger, and wishes for kids with critical illnesses. Jones most recently served as Campaign Advisor for Make-A-Wish America's first major gifts campaign in 2018. He was raised on the West Side of Detroit by his grandmother and graduated valedictorian from Northwestern High School. Jones matriculated to the University of Chicago and completed his undergraduate studies in Economics in 2006.
"Launching The Black America Foundation is a dream come true. We have maintained resiliency in the face of many obstacles since our arrival on these shores. Yet we have never lost hope. I'm so inspired by us and I hope that this ecosystem gets us a bit closer to the life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness we were guaranteed. I pray that this is a moment that all Americans can come together and help resew our now fragile American fabric. I'm humbled and honored to direct this important campaign. I'm eternally grateful to all of the people that contributed stellar deliverables to make this happen. Personally, this project has been a love letter to my people. Today is the day I have been waiting for because I can finally watch them read it," wrote Jones.
