The CementBloc launches their new happiness app, : ) fuel ™, at 2013 Internet Week on Wednesday, May 22

NEW YORK, May 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Building on the success of its 2012 appearance at Internet Week, The CementBloc is hosting a literal "Happy" Hour experiential event to launch its new happiness app. The event will be held at Union Square Ballroom on Wednesday, May 22, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

: ) fuel ^™ (pronounced happy fuel), is a social application that fuels and pays happiness forward.  It gives users a mobile place to store and share the things that fuel their happy, whether it's a song, photo, video, place, sound, or thought. And while the user is sharing happiness, : ) fuel even lets them gauge their own happiness. At the Internet Week event, guests will experience the : ) fuel ^™ app in action, by uploading, gauging and sharing the things that fuel their happy. They can also fill up on happy drinks, snacks, and massages. There will also be special : ) giveaways.

The World Happiness Report, a publication commissioned by the United Nations, finds that happy and healthy go hand in hand, noting that "More happiness predicts better future physical health." The report cites studies showing that "individuals with higher positive affect have better neuroendocrine, inflammatory and cardiovascular activity."

A key component of happiness is the ability to "live in the moment," to enjoy things as they happen. It's a quality normally associated with teens and young adults. However, young people tend to take positive things for granted. In fact, adults over 50 are generally happier because they have a greater understanding and appreciation of what brings them happiness.

: ) fuel ™ is a social app that is designed to make the "millennial" generation more aware of their happiness and then fuel it forward, which also connects to this generation's socially conscious mindset.
