NEW YORK, May 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The CementBloc showcased its new happiness app by hosting a literal "Happy" Hour experiential event at Union Square Ballroom on Wednesday, May 22, 2013.
: ) fuel ™ (pronounced happy fuel), is a social application that fuels and pays happiness forward. It gives users a mobile place to store and share the things that fuel their happy, whether it's a song, photo, video, place, sound, or thought. And while the user is sharing happiness, : ) fuel even lets them gauge their own happiness.
At the Internet Week event, guests experienced the : ) fuel ™ app in action by uploading, gauging, and sharing the things that fuel their happiness. They also filled up on happy drinks, snacks, and even massages. : ) giveaways included buttons, t-shirts, and confetti poppers.
Upon entering the event space, guests were greeted by "Happy Ambassadors" who introduced them to the : ) fuel ™ app. They experienced the : ) fuel ™ app's capabilities in real time, as sample content was uploaded and projected onto flat screen monitors throughout the room. Guests downloaded their own : ) fuel ™ apps via the Apple App store. Mirroring one of the standout features of : ) fuel ™, a large scale "interactive happiness gauge" was displayed on a wall, projecting the happiness temperature—from "regular" to "plus" to "premium"—throughout the evening.
"We have invested so much happiness and time on the idea of : ) fuel, and it was wonderful to be able to share it and see the effect it has on people. Internet Week is a great launching pad for start-up concepts like ours to be showcased in the digital community," noted Elizabeth Elfenbein, founder of Happy Fuel LLC and partner at The Bloc. "I could witness the Gotham Happiness Quotient real time during this event and it was truly exciting to watch."
