BLOOMFIELD, Conn., Oct. 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Cigna Group Foundation, the philanthropic arm of The Cigna Group (NYSE: CI), today released its Improving Youth Mental Health 2025 Impact Report, highlighting the transformative effect of its youth mental health initiatives across 10 states. With more than $3 million in grants distributed to 23 nonprofit organizations in its first year of the youth mental health grant program, the Foundation's commitment to improving mental health access and outcomes has reached over 34,000 youth, families, and professionals in underserved communities.

"Community-based organizations are the heart of this work, and we're proud to help them address the youth mental health crisis here in America."
Through school-based programs, clinical services, and family engagement workshops, this grant program supported youth, parents and professionals through the following activities:
- 8,576 youth mental health education sessions
- 4,392 behavioral health therapy sessions
- 6,759 social-emotional learning activities
- 8,397 adult mental health literacy trainings
- 5,960 case management, grief counseling, mentoring and parental engagement workshops
Grantees reported outcome achievement rates as high as 94% for their specific youth mental health programming goals, with measurable improvements in access to care, emotional resilience, social connectedness, and school success.
"If I never came here, I don't know if I'd still be here," shared a youth participant from New London Counseling Center in Pennsylvania, which received funding from The Cigna Group Foundation to help subsidize individual and group therapy and expand its community education programming. "Counseling helped me get everything off my chest. For so long, I kept everything bottled up. Now I feel lighter."
This work is part of a broader $27 million, three-year investment aimed at building healthier futures through community-based care. The Cigna Group Foundation's commitment to improving youth mental health focuses on early intervention, culturally responsive programming, and empowering caregivers and educators to support young people's emotional well-being.
Through a national grant, The Boys and Girls Clubs of America led efforts to support trauma-informed practices in over 81% of clubs, developed a teen mental health guide, and distributed nearly 1,000 youth mental health packs that were created by employees of The Cigna Group. Earlier this year, The Cigna Group Foundation announced expanded support, inclusive of embedding the Behavioral Support Toolkit to all Clubs.
