The Citizen Service Launches National Campaign for a Citizen-Driven, Solution Focused America

PERTH AMBOY, N.J., March 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Citizen Service today announced the launch of its countrywide "Campaign for a "Citizen Driven, Solution Focused America." The campaign is designed to strengthen our democracy with a pragmatic solution focus and break through the distractions of disinformation and conspiracy theories that have empowered the extremes at the expense of the middle in today's politics. To do this, the Citizen Service will recruit, train and deploy new grassroots leadership. 

Recruitment of regular Americans will be promoted by the inaugural president of the Citizen Service, John Silvanus Wilson, former president of Morehouse College, whose career also includes senior executive roles at Harvard University, MIT and the White House. Wilson will lead a team of recruitment promoters, including Bart Oates, a three-time Super Bowl winner and all pro center who played for the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers, Joan Verplanck, former president of the NJ and Delaware Chambers of Commerce, and other accomplished leaders. 

While open to all, campaign leaders noted, recruitment will be prioritized to financially squeezed working and middle class Americans who live paycheck to paycheck and are fast losing hope. These Americans, who comprise a majority of our country, have been failed by both parties and need a stronger voice in the shaping of America's solutions. As the American Dream feels increasingly out of reach for too many, putting more working and middle class Americans onto the political playing field is what is required to advance the pragmatic, non-ideological solutions that provide all Americans in the words of Lincoln with an "open field and a fair chance."

"The Campaign for a Citizen Driven, Solution Focused America will give each of us the opportunity to take personal responsibility for building a more civil and fact-based political climate that will have a powerful effect on the behavior of both our fellow citizens as well as our elected representatives," said the Founder of the Citizen Service, Harry Pozycki. "It will empower America's silent majority to restore the principles of mutual respect, pragmatism and unselfish service that once made our American democracy the envy of the world."

Recruitment for the campaign will also be through partnerships with institutions across the spectrum of American society: colleges and universities; corporations and unions; faith based institutions; and especially youth leadership organizations. A special youth initiative will be unveiled in May.

The training will be in Pragmatic, No Blame Problem Solving. Citizens will be taught how to find solutions that are: based on evidence of success; cost effective; and benefit the broader community - not the special interests. It will employ a highly regarded online video course and manual on citizen power that feature a 10-step method for pragmatic problem solving. The training teaches a No Blame approach designed to avoid the blame game and keep the focus on practical solutions rather than conspiracies and other forms of disinformation. 

Once trained, citizens will be deployed by choosing from 5 local leadership roles designed to be accessible to all Americans regardless of their time constraints. Citizens will be asked to serve for between one to three years and become part of a nationwide community of pragmatic problem solvers.
