The Folded Flag Foundation Receives $10K Donation from Fashion Neckwear Designer David Fin Ties

Donation Culminates Four-Month Campaign to Help Fund Madison Marcum's Education

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Feb. 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Folded Flag Foundation is pleased to announce it has received a $10,000 donation from David Fin Ties to help fund educational opportunities for the families of America's bravest heroes.

Folded Flag is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that relies on public and corporate donations to fulfill its mission of providing educational scholarships to surviving family members of military and government employees who have lost their lives in combat while serving our country.

The scholarship opportunities offered by The Folded Flag Foundation include:

Children's education scholarships for private school tuition and educational programs and for children in grades K-12.
Scholarships for spouses and dependents to attend college or technical/trade school.

David Fin Ties was founded in 2014 with a mission to support transitioning military families, including raising awareness of veteran employment and other initiatives. The company designs and manufacturers high-end neckwear in New York City using the finest silk from Como, Italy.

In September, David Fin Ties founder and CEO David Herzka named The Folded Flag Foundation the company's veteran charity partner, pledging to contribute $5 for each tie sold on davidfin.com to The Folded Flag Foundation to help The Folded Flag Foundation fund the educational dreams of families of our fallen heroes. David Fin Ties chose Folded Flag scholarship recipient Madison Marcum as the beneficiary of this special campaign.

Touched by the outpouring of support of the campaign, Herzka later decided to double the originally agreed upon donation to $10 per tie, and added $5 per pocket square sold.
