"Every day, I continue to do anything I can in the fight against cancer," said Spielman. "Last year, we raised nearly $60,000 through the generous support of local McDonald's owners and operators. This year, we want to do more. We have to do more. This fight won't end until we find a cure."
The "Buy One, Help Many" campaign continues and strengthens a two-year partnership between Spielman, Ohio State and Central Ohio McDonald's Restaurants to help promote balanced eating, active lifestyles and giving back to communities in need. As part of the partnership, Spielman will join the Central Ohio McDonald's Restaurants in their continued commitment to the local community, helping to launch important initiatives that promote active lifestyles, sportsmanship and respect for self and community.
"Breast cancer has affected every one of us – our customers, our employees, our families," said Brian Mortellaro, local McDonald's owner/operator. "We have an opportunity and responsibility to do what we can to give back and support the fight."

About the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research
The Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute was established in 1999 by Stefanie and Chris Spielman after Stefanie was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 30 in 1998. Knowing that research is key to helping find a cure, the fund is dedicated to advancing breast cancer research through innovative therapies, treatment options and novel diagnostics. Since its inception, the Spielman Fund has raised more than $11 million. Before she passed away in November 2009 after a decade-long battle, Stefanie left us with some final thoughts: Continue to fight. Continue to live.
