The Gomez Law Firm to be Recognized With Five 2010 Outstanding Trial Lawyers Awards From the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego Organization
'In recognition of outstanding verdicts in connection with a jury trial'
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The Consumer Attorneys of San Diego (CASD) will give out five Outstanding Trial Lawyer Awards in recognition of outstanding verdicts in connection with a jury trial to three attorneys at The Gomez Law Firm: John H. Gomez, Robert Hamparyan and James S. Iagmin at its annual Awards and Installation Dinner to be held at the U.S. Grant on October 28th.
According to CASD, the Outstanding Trial Lawyer Award is given to individuals based in San Diego, responsible for an outstanding verdict in connection with a jury trial involving a civil or criminal matter. The case must be tried to a verdict. Other criteria include ingenuity, liability aspects, service to the community and the amount of the verdict.
Carmel Valley resident, attorney John Gomez and James S. Iagmin will receive the award for the case of Wieder v. San Diego Unified Schook District, et al. In that case, Gomez and Iagmin obtained a $1.25 million verdict for an underage female student that had a sexual relationship with her high school teacher.
John H. Gomez and James Iagmin will receive the award a second time, for the case of Chapman v. Tolo. In that case, Gomez and Iagmin obtained a nearly $2 million verdict for a young Marine Corps reservist that crashed into a black out car on the I-162 near Mission Valley.
Robert Hamparyan, also from The Gomez Law Firm will be awarded the recognition of Outstanding Trial Lawyer, in the case of Rogers v. Storms & Slover, tried in conjunction with Ryan Harris. In that case, Hamparyan and Harris obtained a nearly $13 million verdict for a severely brain injured young woman in Visalia, California.
