CHICAGO, March 7, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Renting a tuxedo for prom season just got less expensive and more convenient. For the first time, prom-goers can shop online and own a high-quality and stylish prom tuxedo for less than the cost of a rental.
The wide selection of suits and tuxedos for teenagers will be available at Dap Suits. Dap Suits launched today as a subsidiary of The Groomsman Suit (TGS), the first e-commerce company offering tuxedos men can own for less than the cost of a rental.
Since launching out of a New York apartment in 2016, TGS generated $2.5 million in sales in 2018, is projecting $8 million in sales in 2019, and is now headquartered out of a 2,200 square foot warehouse and showroom in Chicago.
Dap Suits will offer five styles, 140 jacket and pant sizes in four colors for $194. The site also features a blog called Prom Style, which provides trends, tips and how-to articles.
Dap Suits will follow TGS business model including a free at home trial, free shipping and a fit guarantee. This model has yielded a five-star rating on The Knot, won Wedding Wire's Couple's Choice Awards in 2017 and 2018, and received FedEx's "Exceptional Customer Service Award".
"The customer response in the wedding space has been overwhelmingly positive and through Dap Suits we'll bring the same convenient, high-quality and inexpensive experience to prom-goers," said Jeanne Foley, TGS Co-Founder. "Teenagers are tech-savvy and will appreciate that our process is very turnkey, and parents will like that we have a proven track record in the wedding space. Today's launch marks the latest expansion for our company and is part of our larger goal to make owning affordably sharp tuxedos possible for people of all ages."
Last month, TGS launched the first Kids Collection offering matching outfits for ring bearers and junior groomsman for $94; and the company was tapped to outfit groomsman on My Great Big Live Wedding with David Tutera airing Tuesday's on Lifetime at 10:00 p.m. ET from Feb. 5 – 28.
About the Groomsman Suit
The Groomsman Suit is the first e-commerce company offering stylish, high-quality suits and tuxedos men can own for less than the cost of a rental.
The core wedding line is available in five styles and seven colors for just $194. In 2019, the company launched the first Kids Collection for $94 and launched Dap Suits for prom-goers.
TGS was co-founded by lifelong friends Jeanne Foley and Diana Ganz after Jeanne's personal experience planning her own wedding. With no other options to affordably outfit their groomsmen, she and her husband were forced to go the rental route only to be disappointed by the logistics, poor fit, and price. Jeanne's fashion industry experience combined with Diana's award-winning business background has proved to be a perfect fit.
