According to the article, the study included 2,933 adults aged 65 and older living in four separate communities across the United States. It was conducted as part of a larger Cardiovascular Health initiative. Based on the results, further studies with controls and quantitative measures may follow. The article noted researchers went on record as stating, "At present, the totality of evidence from observational studies and randomized, controlled trials suggests that exercise is good for the heart, even in the elderly."
