Mr. McCarl studied Emergency Medical Technology at Lane Community College and completed EMT Intermediate training at Chemeketa Community College. In addition to leading New Leaf Hyperbarics & Wellness, Mr. McCarl has devoted 34 years to serving his community as a volunteer firefighter with Harrisburg Fire and Rescue. Throughout his career, Mr. McCarl has remained actively involved in professional and community organizations. He is a member of the International Hyperbaric Association, the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, and the Eugene Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as a board member and ambassador for the Tri-County Chamber of Commerce, supporting business development and community engagement throughout the region.

His accomplishments have earned numerous honors, including being named EMT of the Year in 1998, 2008, 2010, and 2020. In addition, he is a contributing author to the book *A Health Awakening Awoke the Entrepreneur in Me*, sharing his professional journey and passion for helping others achieve better health.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Mr. McCarl enjoys woodworking, hiking, spending time at the beach, serving alongside his fellow firefighters, and making memories with his family. He has been married for 27 years and is the proud father of two daughters and one son, as well as a grandparent. Over the course of several years, he and his wife also opened their home as foster parents, helping raise more than 30 children in total, including their own three. This experience further reflects their shared commitment to serving others and making a lasting difference in the lives of young people. He also honors the memory of his mother, Juanita McCarl, whose influence continues to inspire his life and work.
