The Japanese Performance Group "NYOTAIMORI TOKYO" Published Its New Photo Album and Celebrates Its Launch.

-ABOUT THE BOOK -
The world's first-ever Nyotaimori*1 photo collection focuses on the visual expression of a new Nyotaimori. Featuring the work of up-and-coming Tokyo area photographer TRMN, the collection explores the concept of "Nyotaimori" from a variety of viewpoints with models of varied genders and races and in collaborations with world-class artists, including, special makeup artist Amazing Jiro. This photographic aims to break down various prejudices in dealing with the taboo of Nyotaimori.

-EXHIBITION-
In conjunction with the release of the photo album, exhibitions of the photograph collection on large panels are being held. The Tokyo exhibition ended within a great success in this August, and will be followed by the exhibition in Hong Kong from 9/21 ~ 10/20 at the fashion gallery "Mahka" in SheungWan (4, Wa Lane, Sheung wan, Hong Kong)

-ABOUT NYOTAIMORI TOKYO-
NYOTAIMORI TOKYO is a team of artists that began first-in-Japan Nyotaimori performances in 2015.

With a variety of dedicated artists participating in its planning and performances, its artistic essence has drawn attention from various artistic circles in Japan and abroad.

Nyotaimori is believed to have originated in Japan's ancient red-light districts of the Edo period as a leisure activity. It involved the dining of sashimi off an unclad woman's body (although the historical record surrounding are vague and also subject to myth).

NYOTAIMORI TOKYO has re-invented this original, partially pornographic image of Nyotaimori and turned it into a refined and beautiful performance.

-EXHIBITION in TOKYO-
Approximately 500 people attended the exhibition at the UltraSuperNew Gallery (http://gallery.ultrasupernew.com) in Tokyo this August during a duration of 4 days. An opening party was held on the first day with 150 people attending the event.  The theme of the day's performance was "Tea ceremony × Kaidan*2 × NYOTAIMORI" in collaboration with Mr.Soryou Matsumura, who has been well recognized for his tea ceremonies in various countries worldwide. The performer enacted the "incarnation of fox" ("Tamamonomae"). Tamamonomae is an ancient Japanese ghost story handed down since the 14th century.
