The Jason Foundation Celebrates 29th Anniversary

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Jason Foundation, Inc. (JFI), a national leader in youth and young adult suicide awareness and prevention, proudly marks its 29th anniversary today. Founded in 1997 after the loss of 16-year-old Jason Flatt, JFI was created with the goal of helping prevent other families from experiencing the heartbreak of losing a child to suicide.

What began as a small organization around a kitchen table in Hendersonville, Tennessee, has now grown into a national network providing educational programs, resources, and support throughout all 50 states. Today, JFI and its network of affiliate offices work with schools, educators, parents, youth organizations, coaches, community groups, and others to increase awareness, recognize warning signs, and encourage individuals to seek professional help when needed.
