The "Key" To Keeping Kids and Seniors Warm This Winter
KeyBank teams up with The Salvation Army & WTAE Project Bundle-Up
CARNEGIE, Pa., Oct. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The recent weather in the region most likely hasn't had many of us thinking of winter. But, the fact remains that within just a month or so, the Western PA region could be heading for those familiar cold temperatures the season brings. The Farmer's Almanac is predicting a rougher winter for the 2017-2018 season than we had last year. The Salvation Army, WTAE TV, and KeyBank, along with many other generous companies, want to ensure that children and senior citizens throughout the region are well prepared to face the frigid temperatures.
KeyBank is not only supporting the WTAE Project Bundle-Up program financially and with volunteer support, but is encouraging more companies to do the same. Each year, the list of those who need winter outerwear grows. KeyBank and many other companies sponsor shopping trips, where employee volunteers are matched with students to help them choose their new winter coat, hat, gloves and boots. These volunteers also spend important time with the children, talking with and encouraging them.
"No child should shiver at the school bus stop on a winter morning, and no senior citizen should wear inadequate outdoor winter wear because they cannot afford it," said Todd Moules, President of KeyBank. "Helping our neighbors to stay warm and to thrive is an important goal for all of us. We invite other companies and organizations in the region to help make sure that every child and senior citizen who needs warm winter gear is able to get it without waiting.
