The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Kicks off 2014 Bay Area Man & Woman of the Year Campaign
LLS Mobilizes Influential Leaders across the Bay Area in the Fight against Blood Cancers
SAN FRANCISCO, March 25, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Greater Bay Area Chapter is launching its 2014 Bay Area Man & Woman of the Year (MWOY) fundraising campaign, enlisting influential and compassionate community leaders as candidates competing to raise funds for blood cancer research and cures. In its 24th year, the Bay Area MWOY campaign has 15 candidates vying for the title of Man and Woman of the Year.
The MWOY campaign is an annual 10-week fundraising competition between community leaders united by one goal, to use their leadership skills to raise funds to help blood cancer patients live longer and more fulfilling lives. The MWOY candidates compete in honor of the Bay Area Boy & Girl of the Year to raise the most funds for blood cancer research. This year's Boy & Girl of the Year are Roman and Aubrey, respectively, who are both blood cancer survivors. Every dollar counts as one vote and the titles are awarded to the man and woman with the most votes at the end of the campaign.
