The Miller Law Firm Recovers $1.45 Million for Boutique Condo Association in the Dogpatch District in Only 6 Months

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Miller Law Firm has reached a record setting recovery for the Millwheel South Owners' Association, settling their construction defect claim in only 6 months from filing the complaint in the San Francisco Superior Court.

This boutique condominium project located in the historic Dogpatch neighborhood was completed in May of 2012, making news when all 32 units were sold only 4 weeks after hitting the market.  Just six years later, facing costly repairs and the risk of towering special assessments, the Board of Directors presented a claim for numerous building performance standards violations against San Francisco developer, Redmond Lyons' R Group.  These sub-standard conditions included significant water intrusion at windows, doors, private decks, garage, roof and foundation, excessive window condensation, failing roof membranes, corroded plumbing and sewer lines, significant cracking and vertical displacement, lack of fire protection, and the absence of a window washing or building maintenance system, as required by law and mandated by Cal/OSHA.

Just one year prior, The Miller Law Firm reached a confidential settlement for Millwheel South's neighboring sister building, which houses the headquarters of San Francisco favorite, Philz Coffee.
