The Moore Center is Renamed Eating Recovery Center of Washington

BELLEVUE, Wash., June 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Moore Center, Washington's longest-established eating disorder treatment center, has been renamed Eating Recovery Center of Washington to more effectively communicate the breadth of services offered at Eating Recovery Center's Washington-based locations.

In July 2012, Eating Recovery Center partnered with The Moore Center with the intention of expanding access to comprehensive eating disorders treatment in the Pacific Northwest. In May 2014, Eating Recovery Center opened a Residential program in Washington. The Residential program was named Eating Recovery Center of Washington due to the 24-hour care and level of expertise and experience inherent in Eating Recovery Center's Residential treatment model.

"After opening the Residential program, we realized having two names was confusing to referral sources, patients and families," explains Eating Recovery Center Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ken Weiner. "Dr. Mehri Moore, founder of The Moore Center, did a fabulous job building the Center. As she transitioned out of her previous role, everyone agreed that a name change made sense."

Located in Bellevue, Washington, Eating Recovery Center of Washington provides a high level of eating disorder treatment to adolescent and adult female and male patients. Beyond the name change, all other aspects of the treatment center will remain the same:

• Comprehensive and medically-supervised eating disorders treatment
• Evidence-based therapeutic interventions
• Acknowledgement and addressing of co-occurring illnesses
• Engagement of families in the recovery process
• Support for program alumni at all stages of the recovery journey

Eating Recovery Center of Washington will continue to work closely to develop and implement innovative, evidence-based treatment strategies with Eating Recovery Center's medical and clinical leadership: Drs. Ken Weiner, Craig Johnson, Emmett Bishop, Philip Mehler and Ovidio Bermudez, whose combined expertise represents over 156 years of specific eating disorders experience.

Eating Recovery Center's Denver-based behavioral hospitals – the Behavioral Hospital for Adults and the Behavioral Hospital for Children and Adolescents – will continue to serve as a resource for Eating Recovery Center of Washington patients requiring a higher level of Inpatient care.
