The Nestpoint Foundation to Launch Inaugural American Exceptionalism Awards Gala at the Kennedy Center October 9, 2025

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth will Receive The Great American Exceptionalism Award

WASHINGTON, Sept. 29, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- At a time when America is searching for leaders, dreamers, and doers who reflect the very best of who we are, the Nestpoint Foundation is stepping forward to shine a light on them. On Thursday, October 9, 2025, the Foundation will host the inaugural American Exceptionalism Awards Gala at the Kennedy Center's Terrace Theater in Washington, D.C.—a night dedicated to honoring those whose lives tell the story of America at its best.

"From war heroes and community leaders to innovators, artists, and mentors, the evening will bring together individuals whose courage, creativity, and character represent the essence of American exceptionalism," said John Thomas, Founder and Chairman of the Nestpoint Foundation.

Headlining this night of celebration will be Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, as the recipient of the Foundation's flagship honor, The Great American Exceptionalism Award.

"Pete Hegseth represents the American story in full," said Tim Phillips, Executive Director and Board Member of the Nestpoint Foundation. "From his middle-class roots in Minnesota, to his decorated service in Iraq and Afghanistan, to his advocacy for veterans and his trailblazing leadership as our nation's first Secretary of War in modern history—Pete reminds us of what can be achieved when service, sacrifice, and patriotism guide a life."

"This gala is about more than awards," added John Thomas. "It's about reminding America that our greatest strength has always been our people—their courage, ingenuity, and willingness to serve something greater than themselves. By honoring these extraordinary individuals, we are telling a story that needs to be told repeatedly: America is exceptional because Americans are exceptional."
