The Ohio School Plan Board Approves the Inclusion of Community Colleges
TOLEDO, Ohio, May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The Ohio School Plan (OSP), a group that provides affordable and innovative insurance and risk management solutions to Ohio public school entities and boards of developmental disabilities, approved the decision to include community colleges into their membership. The OSP provides a practical alternative to creating an independent risk pool because they have already secured the substantial premium necessary to minimize the cost of risk. The OSP also has specialized risk management services and claim services designed specifically for educational entities. The acceptance of the community colleges into the OSP is effective immediately.
"The Ohio School Plan's mission is to provide high quality, affordable, and innovative insurance and risk management solutions to Ohio public educational entities. The board's decision to include community colleges is an exciting and natural fit," said Megan R. Williams, Chairperson. "By joining our established organization, community colleges can take advantage of all the benefits of Ohio School Plan membership including practical risk management assistance and building equity with other Ohio educational entities. I look forward to the collaborative effort with community colleges."
For eight years, and with more than $1,930,000 in members' equity, the OSP has been able to provide innovative insurance solutions, consistent and competitive pricing and excellent service to its more than 260 members. They concentrate on long term member benefits and the OSP strategically aligns their interests with those of their members.
"The Ohio School Plan's decision to include community colleges is exciting for everyone," said Joe Seay, President of Hylant Administrative Services. "Members build equity in their own program and the OSP builds and uses the members' equity for the benefit of new and current members."
Seay continued, "The Board is comprised of officials from the membership. The Ohio School Plan members, agent representatives, claim representatives, risk managers and underwriters, are all headquartered in Ohio and have a vested interest and strong desire to see successful results. I'm proud to be part of a creative, Ohio-grown way to spend insurance dollars more effectively in the education sector."
