The Open Group Balances Exploration of Next Generation SOA with Development of Current SOA Skills at Seattle 2010 Conference

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The Open Group today announced a special service-oriented architecture (SOA) program track at The Open Group Conference Seattle 2010, to be held on February 1-5, 2010 at the Grand Hyatt Seattle, that will explore the future of SOA while consolidating the skill set of today's SOA practitioners. In addition to presentations given by industry thought-leaders and practitioners, attendees can expand their skill set by participating in the new Open Group SOA tutorial series prepared by The Open Group SOA Work Group and a special co-located, post-conference SOA workshop from SOASchool.com™.

The Conference Presentations

The program features a keynote on "Next Generation of SOA" by Thomas Erl, best-selling SOA author and founding member of the SOA Manifesto, plus presentations from noteworthy SOA practitioners including Tony Carrato, worldwide chief operations architect, EIS SOA Advanced Technology at IBM, Mats Gejnevall, global enterprise architect at Capgemini Sweden, Steve Bennett, director of Grid Platform Solutions at Oracle, and Heather Krieger, SOA standards architect and strategist at IBM. Each tutorial is designed to build on the previous ones, with the content becoming increasingly technical as the series progresses. The goal is for attendees to follow the series just as far as it fits with their interests and responsibilities. It will supplement the conference program with more intensive and detailed material for SOA practitioners.
