"The Oscars Equivalent For Neuroscience" Comes To LaLa Land
The First World Brain Expo and the 16th Annual World Congress of Society for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics (SBMT-Brain and Spine) to be held in Los Angeles Convention Center on March 15 - 17th along with the 16th Annual "Gathering for the Cure" Black-Tie Gala of Brain Mapping Foundation at the Intercontinental Hotel in Downtown LA on March 16th
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 28, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Brain Mapping Foundation (BMF), in collaboration with the Society for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics (SBMT), is pleased to announce the first World Brain Expo for patients and their families to learn about the latest advancements in neuroscience. The organizations have been involved in fast tracking therapeutics for neurological, spine, and psychiatric disorders through its annual World Brain Mapping Convention, fellowships, and pioneering publications. They have also played a significant role in raising global awareness through neuroscience policy forums such as the Eighth Annual Brain Mapping Day at the US Congress on Feb. 28th, and the International Brain Mapping/Neuroscience-20 Initiative.
The foundation is holding its annual fundraising gala to honor individuals who have contributed to scientific discovery and achievements and helped shape public policies that have provided patients with a better quality of life. Special guests will include scientists, NFL Players, physicians and Hollywood celebrities, including Grammy Award winner, Debbie Boone, who will have a musical performance at the gala. Drs. Deepak Chopra, Daniel Perl, Jeff Wang, Nevzat Tarhan, and a filmmaker Sean Stone are amongst the award recipients. The host for the evening is actor David Walton.

The First World Brain Expo, to be held March 15 -17, and open to the general public, will include panel discussions with Dr. Deepak Chopra, Nobel Laureate Eric Kandel, and leading scientists from the Department of Defense and the Veterans Administration. Leading specialists in spine surgery, neurosurgery, neurology, neuroradiology, neuroscience, neuro-engineering, psychiatry and neuro-oncology will speak on the latest innovations in therapeutic options.
