The Physicians of Fairfax Neonatal Associates awarded by Inova as Philanthropic Champions

FAIRFAX, Va., Nov. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Inova held their annual Honors Dinner in McLean, VA on November 9^th.  The Dinner is the premier event for the Capitol region to honor those physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals who deliver extraordinary care, and who inspire patients to give back to Inova's non-profit missions.  Being nominated by their peers, Fairfax Neonatal Associates (FNA) was recognized for their excellent patient care, and their dedication to philanthropic efforts that encourage the community to generously join them.

In 1973, FNA began one of the first neonatal intensive care units (NICU) in Northern Virginia with seven beds at the Inova Fairfax Hospital. Now more than four decades later, they provide care in the 108 bed Fairfax Neonatal Associates NICU at Inova Children's Hospital, as well as the NICUs at Inova Fair Oaks and Loudoun Hospitals. FNA is not only devoted to providing exceptional quality care to premature infants, they also offer specialty care to infants through adolescents at their outpatient offices, including pediatric pulmonology, allergy, surgery, and sleep medicine services. 

FNAs philanthropic efforts are largely focused on the March of Dimes (MoD), a non-profit organization that advocates for the health of all moms and babies—supporting prematurity research and improvements in care.  Other areas of generosity for FNA in 2018 include donations to the NICUs of Inova Children's, Fair Oaks, and Loudoun hospitals, and sponsorships of Food Allergy Research Education (FARE), the Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia, Inova Nursing for the Stars program, and the StarKid 5K.
