NEW YORK, Feb. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Pack your bags: Travel expert and founder of ThePointsGuy.com Brian Kelly announces the launch of TPGtv, a web-series showcasing the extraordinary experiences made possible by maximizing frequent flyer miles and credit card points. The series follows Kelly as he journeys to far-reaching destinations around the globe traveling in style for a fraction of the cost.
Launching February 1st, 2016 on The Points Guy YouTube channel, the first season of nine episodes sees Kelly take a once in a lifetime odyssey around Africa. Traveling from Ghana and Rwanda to South Africa and returning through Doha, he discovers remarkable people and uncommon travel experiences while taking viewers inside the luxury hotel and resort accommodations that his points and mileage strategies secure.
"TPGtv blows the lid off conventional notions of points travel," says Kelly. "When you figure out how to maximize your miles, the world unlocks in ways you can't imagine. You can journey to the most adventurous and luxurious locations on earth. This series provides a new platform for me to share my travel experiences with my readers first hand."
The first episode, "Getting to Africa Using 90K Delta Sky Miles and $5.60 Cents," https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uytlc2EmN3I shows Kelly leveraging miles to travel Business Class to Accra, instead of paying the $5,000 airfare. It offers insider tips on how to accrue the necessary miles and goes behind the scenes of the complete DeltaOne experience, from check-in to roof-top drinks at the lounge to in-flight. TPGtv also brings you on board the aircraft, where few cameras have ever gone before.
Subsequent weekly episodes see Kelly exploring Ghana's musical culture and Accra's nightlife, before continuing the mileage journey. Highlights of TPGtv's season one include "Traveling to Rwanda and trekking with Gorillas & Thousand Hills Hotel Review (out February 22nd)" and "Cape Town Sand Boarding & Nobu Restaurant Review" (out March 14th). The complete episode schedule can be viewed at www.thepointsguy.com/tpg-tv.
The second episode, "PeaceJam: Ghana" (out February 8th), explores an organization near and dear to Kelly's heart. PeaceJam is a global organization that uses the teachings of 13 Nobel Peace Prize laureates to educate youth and youth leaders around the world. As an ambassador to PeaceJam, Kelly presented a youth award to a group of PeaceJam members in Accra who organized a community outreach campaign. The campaign to improve sanitation significantly reduced the number of cholera cases in the largest outbreak since 1982.
Set for release later this Spring, season two follows Kelly through Vietnam, Grand Cayman, Park City Utah and London.
