The Princeton Review & Entrepreneur Name the Top 25 Undergrad & Grad Schools for Entrepreneurship Studies for 2019

NEW YORK, Nov. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Princeton Review^® and Entrepreneur magazine today announced the results of The Princeton Review's 13th annual survey naming the 25 undergraduate and 25 graduate schools best for entrepreneurship studies.

The University of Michigan captured the #1 spot on the undergraduate entrepreneurship programs ranking list for the first time. Babson College finished #1 on the graduate entrepreneurship programs list – a distinction it last earned in 2013. Both schools had been at the #4 spots on the respective 2018 lists. The full lists of the top 25 undergraduate and graduate schools for 2019 are below.

Entrepreneur posted the lists on https://www.entrepreneur.com/topcolleges. The magazine will also publish the lists and a feature on the rankings in its December issue available on newsstands November 27. The feature offers details about the schools' programs and the number of entrepreneur-related courses they offer. It also reports on the number of startups the schools' graduates launched in the past ten years and levels of funding they raised.

The Princeton Review tallied its 2019 lists based on surveys it conducted from July through August 2018 of administrators at more than 300 schools offering entrepreneurship studies. The 60-question survey covered the school's commitment to entrepreneurship studies inside and outside the classroom. Topics included: the percentage of faculty, students, and alumni actively and successfully involved in entrepreneurial endeavors, the number and reach of mentorship programs, scholarships and grants for entrepreneurial studies, and the level of support for school-sponsored business plan competitions. In all, more than 40 data points were analyzed in the ranking list tallies.

Many schools on the lists have extraordinary records of graduate accomplishments. At the University of Michigan, #1 on the undergraduate list, students graduating within the last ten years have started over 1,000 companies that have raised $61 million in funding. At Rice University, #3 on the graduate list, students graduating in the last ten years have started over 350 companies that have raised $4 billion in funding.

Columbia University, #5 on the graduate list, offers one of the largest and richest graduate student business plan competitions. Last year, it awarded $2,400,000 for student entrepreneurial projects.

Four schools are new to the undergraduate entrepreneurship programs list for 2019: Michigan State University (#21), Texas A&M University (#22), The University of Texas at Dallas (#23) and Belmont University (#24). Three schools are new on the graduate programs list: Columbia University (#5), University of Washington (#13) and Saint Louis University (#21).

Only schools that participated in The Princeton Review entrepreneurship program survey were eligible for consideration for these rankings.
