Iconic Coachbuilt Ferraris, Long Tail Cars of Le Mans, Iconic Pre-1965 Porsches and Racing Legend Jochen Mass to Headline 13th Annual Event: New Fairway Lounge To Offer Live Music, Caviar and Champagne
CARMEL, Calif., July 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Among the country's most celebrated concours events stands the highly anticipated The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. Presented by The Peninsula Signature Events, this year's event will emerge enhanced as it celebrates the allure and magnetism of the motoring world. The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering will take place on Friday, August 14, 2015 on the rolling greens of Quail Lodge & Golf Club in Carmel Valley.
Celebrating the finer things in life, The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering will be more elegant than ever before, setting a new standard for motorsports events around the world. Conceived by the team behind the renowned Peninsula Hotels, The Quail will offer more opportunities to enjoy impeccable food, wine, fashion and entertainment, all surrounded by the most distinguished motor vehicles and motorsports luminaries. Six gourmet culinary pavilions will pay tribute to the world's great cities that are home to The Peninsula Hotels: Chicago, New York, Beverly Hills, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Paris. An expanded stage, new outfitting and more diverse exhibitors will grace the lawn of Quail Lodge this year, all while maintaining the event's invitation-only garden party feel.
More than 200 rare motor vehicles, selected from private collections around the world, will be on display at The 2015 Quail. Featured classes will include Coachbuilt Ferraris, represented by a 1959 Ferrari 410 Superamerica Series III; Long Tail Cars of Le Mans, represented by a 1969 Porsche 908/02 Flunder Langheck Longtail, and the Iconic Pre-1965 Porsches, represented by a 1963 Porsche Carrera 2000 GS Coupe, among several other motorcars signifying each class.
Each year, The Quail honors motorsports luminaries during the Fireside Chat Series. This year, German Formula One Champion Jochen Mass will regale guests with accounts from his career. Mass participated in 114 Formula One World Championship Grand Prix races, debuting in 1973 – he won one GP race, achieved eight podiums and scored a total of 71 championships points. Mass raced in Formula One, Formula Two, the European Touring Car Championship – where he was champion in 1972 – and his win at the Spanish Grand Prix in 1975, as well as the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1989.
In 2015, The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering introduces The Quail Fairway Lounge, where guests can mingle, Champagne in hand, as they enjoy live entertainment and indulge in decadent culinary offerings, including caviar and oysters. Providing an oasis within the gathering, The Quail Fairway Lounge will be well-appointed with plush cabanas lined up along the fairway where guests can take in the sights of the event, including a private helicopter from Agusta Westland. A tiki hut will serve guests fresh coconut water, while Sammy's Beach Bar Rum will be on hand with its notable Woody pouring libations with an extra kick.

All-inclusive tickets to The Quail are $600, by invitation only. The fee for showing a vehicle is $600 per car and includes two all-inclusive tickets to the event, an entrant plaque, and a gift bag.
