The Richardson Police Department and GlobeRanger Corporation Launch Intelligent Asset Management System

RICHARDSON, Texas, Oct. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Richardson Police Department (RPD) and GlobeRanger Corporation announced today that the RPD's intelligent asset management system is now in service.  The system powered by GlobeRanger's GR AWARE™ application provides the RPD real-time visibility of their critical asset inventory, increased control over these assets, improved reporting capabilities, database accuracy and advanced alerting capabilities.  The automation, the ease of use and process improvements the system offers, is expected to deliver a strong return on the RPD's investment in a very short time.

The solution runs on GlobeRanger's iMotion™ platform which enables data capture from current and the next generation of devices (barcode readers, RFID and sensors to name a few).  Inventory can now be electronically scanned and cataloged.  This allows the organization to move away from paper records and time consuming manual entries while simultaneously increasing accuracy.  Enhancing the tracking of assets ranging from weapons and uniforms to radars and cell phones is crucial to effectively managing and securing resources of the Department.
