Following is an insightful and candid sit down with Mr. Mesgarlou talking about the growth of his company and how they've stayed relevant and innovative within the luxury marketplace.

Q: Please tell us about the growth of GWT (Global Wealth Trade Corp.) and the significance of your upcoming 10 year anniversary.

RM: Over the first decade GWT has seen average annual growth of 190% + per year. This growth has placed us as the fastest growing and expanding luxury designer in the world. The surging Burberry group was a distant 2nd place in 2015 with 54% growth.

Q: How has the brand grown over this last year? We want to talk about trajectory. Where GWT started and how it came to be the global brand it is today.

RM: FERI Fashion House is currently serving clients in 94 countries and in 2015 it became Canada's largest designer fashion house.  Our latest market share surge is in Africa and Australia. FERI Designer Lines is on track to become the fastest billion-dollar luxury designer in the world over the next few years.

Q: What is the significance of the ten year anniversary?

RM: Reaching the 10th year mark is really quite special. It is the first major milestone that says we've made it through the toughest period of our history – the infrastructure phase.  If it exists, make it better, if it doesn't exist, create it.  I believe life does not sustain, you are either getting better or you are getting worse.

The above statements represent the cornerstones of the way we do everything. It's this relentless pursuit of perfection and domination that has brought many of our creations from inception to the world's luxury benchmark in the first decade.

Q: We understand that you'll be presenting a runway show this coming April to celebrate your 10th Anniversary.  What is your design vision and philosophy for this collection being presented?

RM: "Design – Function – Exclusivity" is the slogan for FERI DESIGNER LINES. We think outside the status quo where 'function and design' are contradictory philosophies. We want the sexy, sleek and elegant look without the compromise of function and comfort. We are also very aggressive in our design mythology. There is nothing subtle about our red carpet sizzling designs whether in jewelry, footwear or leather goods. People want their FERI because no one can see their business cards from across the room. It keeps us working overtime so we can keep getting better year after year.

Q: What are your plans for the coming year design wise?  Will additional categories be added eventually?

RM: FERI will enter many new categories in 2016 starting with the signature collection and perhaps our most important release to date – the FERI Monogram Series in our leather goods collection. We will also introduce a sexy, Italian made fine Hosiery collection called FERI Sheen. Our luxury timepieces are going to a whole new level with our 10th anniversary collection that are simply out of this world. Our highly popular ladies footwear takes an even sexier form with a brand new FERI designed shoe created to provide comfort for extended use. FERI will also release its brand new collection of FERI Shield sun glasses and Optical collection but perhaps the line we are most excited about to release after 3 years of R & D is the brand new FERI FLAWLESS anti-aging skincare line which we are introducing in the Luxury/Prestige market. Much like everything else we create, FERI FLAWLESS will be revolutionary and its benefits to its user will be life changing.

Q: What is in store for FERI DESIGNER LINES and GWT

RM: Our plan is two-fold: One: Keep expanding our global market share in the luxury markets and two, keep expanding our product lines with new verticals of products in middle to high price points.

Q: What makes each FDL piece unique and special?

RM: Nothing we make is status quo manufacturing. We are the first company to create 19 karat and 21 karat diamond jewelry in 6000 years of its industry. We also created the preparatory Siledium composition, which is considered the 'Rolls Royce' of fine sterling jewelry with its 950 purity and Palladium mix. We use the top Italian Napa leather for our men shoes which is the same leather Mercedes Benz uses for their flagship S Class model. Our genuine diamonds, as well as our lab made diamonds are also amongst the rarest in the industry. So over all we strive to raise the bar in everything we create. 

The advantage we have over all other luxury designs is that I don't have a board of directors who are constantly looking to cut corners to increase the bottom line. I invest whatever is necessary to improve every aspect of our product lines. Another major advantage we have is that we don't price complete with other designers. I keep my profits slim however if quality takes our price point above the current benchmark, like Gucci, LV, Hermes then so be it. Other designers don't have this luxury and price positioning is their number one focus and this has been the cause of their quality demise in some famous brands over the last decade. 

Q: When is the runway show?

RM: The runway show is Thursday, April 7th at 7pm at the International Plaza in Toronto (655 Dixon Road, Toronto, Ontario).  We hope to see old friends and meet more friends at this incredible event.  It is going to be the biggest celebration in our history.
