The ROOT Midwifery Set To Open In Noe Valley, San Francisco on August 29

Aug 26, 2015, 12:30 ET from The ROOT

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The ROOT, a space for midwifery and the shared wisdom that is inspired by women gathering, is pleased to announce its opening in Noe Valley, San Francisco on August 29. The gorgeous, light-filled space at the corner of Sanchez and 26th Street will open its doors to the community at 3pm and welcomes everyone to join and celebrate with champagne by Mumm Napa and bread by The Baker and the Midwife.

The ROOT is founded by four San Francisco midwives – Nile Nash of Mama Lion, Kelly Murphy of Birth Yourself, Jaime Shapiro of Peaceful Passage and Kara Engelbrecht of Mothercraft – who have chosen to weave their individual and dynamic practices into a collaborative space. Their mission is to create opportunity for women to connect, normalize, re-wild and initiate the blueprint of birth, and to feel the collective power and grace of an ever-expanding community.

They have invested in renovating the space so that it's clean, gorgeous, and safe.  They laid down recycled, sustainably-made, non-toxic flooring, put up a fresh coat of 100% zero VOC paint, and furnished the center with natural fibers with no fire-retardants or off-gassing chemicals, creating a space that is elegant and welcoming for clients, and safe for their little ones.

The ROOT is currently running a GoFundMe campaign, inviting the community to help fund their mission.  They have invested time, energy, resources, and love into creating The ROOT, and need your support to get it up and running.  To lend your support please visit:

"Midwifery care is the gold standard for quality in prenatal, birth, and postpartum experiences.  The ROOT, having a physical presence on the street, normalizes the wisdom and care that midwives provide." –Nile Nash, CNM

The ROOT invites you to come by the space and get back to the ROOT of it all: beauty, birth, and love.
