The SaludArte Foundation, Mercantil Commercebank And Brilla Capital Join To Present Innovative Classical Performance Series
Ground-breaking series by critically acclaimed artists, 'LiVE,' Connecting the World Through Music, presents its second performance--live streamed for global access--on Nov. 18 in Miami
CORAL GABLES, Fla., Nov. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In a strong commitment to support Miami's burgeoning fine arts sector, a group of organizations have joined to present an innovative series of classical music concerts and performances. The groundbreaking program, "LiVE," Connecting the World Through Music, features internationally acclaimed musicians and is live streamed for worldwide access.
Presented by The SaludArte Foundation, an organization that promotes the development of artistic, educational and social integration programs through the visual and performing arts, Mercantil Commercebank, one of the largest banks headquartered in Florida, and Brilla Capital, a private equity and asset and property management firm focused on the hospitality sector in Latin America, the collection of performances is offered in collaboration with the New World Symphony, America's Orchestral Academy (NWS) and HELLO STAGE, the largest online community for classical music professionals.
Curated in efforts to entice new audiences and evolve how symphonic music is experienced, "LiVE," Connecting the World Through Music consists of five avant-garde, classical music presentations, all of which are live streamed, allowing them to be appreciated in neighborhoods across the globe and beyond socioeconomic limitations. All performances are available for view via Ustream and www.livemusicworld.org.
The series by globally acclaimed artists launched Oct. 9 with a private event featuring celebrated violinist Nina Heidenreich and Santiago Bernal, a beneficiary of a c.1750 Jules Plumerel cello on loan from SaludArte. The two musicians joined Robert Smith, director of community engagement for the New World Symphony, and Aya Yamamoto, second-year piano fellow at the NWS.
The "LiVE" series will continue with a second performance on Nov. 18 by the SaludArte Strings Quartet and the New World Symphony Fellows Strings, at Ideobox Artspace, at 2417 N. Miami Ave. Three subsequent presentations will take place at the New World Center in Miami Beach through May 2015. Performances will include those by internationally respected violinist Julian Rachlin, piano duo Ferhan and Ferzan Önder, and the proclaimed, "goddess of the flute," Jasmine Choi.
All future shows, including the Nov. 18 performance, will be open to the public and free of charge. For the performances hosted at the New World Center, guests will be able to reserve seats (available on a first-come, first-served basis) through The New World Symphony's website.

The "LiVE" series serves as the international launching platform for the SaludArte Strings Quartet, which is composed of select members of the Medellin Philharmonic Academy (AFMED)—a music education program that aims, in partnership with the New World Symphony, to develop professional musicians coming from socioeconomic disadvantages. Additionally, throughout the run of the series, a diverse program of music workshops is being offered for children and young adults at Ideobox Artspace and other participating venues.
