Foundation Honors Leaders and Focuses on the Importance of Gratitude, Kindness, and Community through Tea Party and Star-Studded Performances
CINCINNATI, Sept. 2, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Sister Accord® Foundation, founded by corporate leader and philanthropist Sonia Jackson Myles, hosted its 12th annual celebration of The Sister Accord® Day this past weekend, bringing together leaders, artists, entrepreneurs, and the community for two days of events designed to inspire, uplift, and unite.
Declared by the City of Cincinnati in 2013, August 31st is officially The Sister Accord® Day. To honor the milestone, the Foundation presented "A Weekend of Sisterhood & Love" on August 30–31, encouraging people everywhere to perform random acts of kindness toward girls and women.
The weekend began with the 34th Leadership Development Tea Party at Prime Cincinnati. The event focused on mental, emotional, and physical health, personal safety, and gratitude as the foundation of leadership and well-being. Highlights included:
- Honoring five transformative leaders: Lindsey Webster, world-famous singer and songwriter; Kala Gibson, Executive Vice President/Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer, Fifth Third Bank; Tracey Artis, CEO of JazJordan, Inc. and I Hear Music, Inc.; Mary Y. Graham, Sr. Sales Executive 2 Integrated Solutions & Consulting, AT&T; and Rachel DesRochers, Serial Entrepreneur and Founder of The Gratitude Collective.
- Announcement of a new program launch of "Equipping A Generation Of Leaders For The City Of Cincinnati" – 100 girls in the city will participate in this powerful program funded by Procter & Gamble and BT Rise.
- A keynote conversation, "The Power of Gratitude," with Sonia Jackson Myles and honoree Rachel DesRochers.
- Announcement of the newest $5,000 Nella D. Jackson Memorial Scholarship recipient, Mar'Kia Williams.
- A Safety in Sisterhood™ masterclass on safe travel strategies.
- An electrifying performance by honoree Lindsey Webster.
That evening, the celebration continued at Ludlow Garage, with a sold-out concert featuring chart-topping saxophonist Kim Waters and Lindsey Webster.
The weekend concluded on Sunday, August 31, with a powerhouse performance by acclaimed R&B artist Rahsaan Patterson at Ludlow Garage.

The Foundation's programs have touched millions globally through its over $300,000 in scholarships and business grants to women-owned businesses, as well as its beloved YouTube channel, which has garnered 88+million views worldwide. Current chapters outside the United States include Harare and Bulawayo, Zimbabwe; Lilongwe, Malawi; and Johannesburg, South Africa, which launched in 2024 in partnership with the Nelson Mandela Foundation. A soft launch for their Lagos, Nigeria Chapter occurred in April of this year. The full launch will happen in 2026. Future plans include chapters in Ghana, Liberia, and the Bahamas.
