The Truth of Christ in 57,000 Homes in Nine Days!
KCBI Joins "Time to Revive"...by FAITH!
DALLAS, April 7, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- KCBI, 90.9FM radio is dedicated to sending forth the Word of God and the city of Flint, Michigan needs help! With unemployment, crime rates, and child abuse topping the charts, the people of Flint, Michigan live their day-to-day lives desperate for hope. Some streets of the city have become so dangerous that the postal service won't even deliver mail to those homes!
In a nine-day outreach, April 18-26, Dallas-based ministry Time to Revive will gather volunteers from across the country to reach 57,000 homes to "reviveFLINT." KCBI listeners donated $20,000 to the project and committed to send Jim Wilson, KCBI Morning Show host, Sharon Geiger, Senior News Director, and Mike Tirone, Senior Vice President and General Manager of KCBI. Kyle Martin of Time to Revive said the word of God is the only way that a city like Flint could ever change. "To have KCBI, a 100,000 watt radio station from Dallas/Fort Worth, embrace our desire to see the city transformed by going to every home and sharing the love of Jesus is truly humbling. I'm thankful that Mike Tirone and the KCBI team have caught the vision for reviveFLINT." Mike Tirone said the Lord's hand is all over this, "I love that KCBI will be a part of reviveFLINT because we can put our faith to action and bring hope to those who feel hopeless. We are to be the light of the world! Flint needs to know that Jesus Christ is the only true Source of hope." Jim Wilson, host of the KCBI Morning Show, says the entire KCBI staff and listening family wants to make a difference in Flint and it's especially important to him on a personal level, "Everyone has a desire to make an impact in this world. I have been commanded to go and make disciples and up 'til now, I've not done a very good job of that. Flint will be my time to change."
A city-wide celebration will highlight the tenth day of reviveFLINT with a concert featuring Nicole C. Mullen and Mike Tirone will deliver a message filled with God's truth. KCBI hopes to bring the celebration event to its listening audience, live from Flint, through a partnership with a local Flint radio station, WSNL 600AM.
Why is KCBI going to Flint? 2 Corinthians 5:14, "For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died," General Manager Mike Tirone says, "You do radical things because of love!"
