WOBURN, Mass., Jan. 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Three generations, 75+ years later, NEWPRO has something extraordinary to celebrate – Mary Cogliani is 100 years old this month. Known for her MaryGrams, Mary, co-owner and founder with Anthony Cogliani Sr. was the foundation for NEWPRO's astounding customer service. She turns 100 on January 11th, 2017.
The story is as amazing as is the NEWPRO organization today. Second generation owner, Nicholas Cogliani, today's owner and president, states "The success of NEWPRO today is very much credited to the roots that were set with the founding first generation team, my mom and dad, Mary and Anthony Cogliani. Many of yesterday's beliefs combined with today's technology has resulted in our organization's growth and success over the years and generations. I am truly blessed and honored to be announcing my mother's 100-year-old birthday. We are celebrating with New England homeowners who know my mother, and for those who did not, I am sharing and celebrating her story and legacy!"
NEWPRO has been serving New England homeowners since 1945. Mary and Anthony started the organization as a part time business in the basement of their home in Medford, MA. The company, The Window Shop of Medford, Inc. specialized in the sales and service of interior window treatments. It was founded and succeeded on the belief that "if you take care of your customers your business will prosper."
In 1963, Nicholas Cogliani, the owner's son and 2nd generation, joined the company as an installer and learned the business from the ground up. By 1967, Nicholas was managing and driving the exterior division and the Window Shop had become a full-service home improvement center including siding, roofing, gutters, windows and doors. In 1972, the company continued growth and Northeast Improvement Company was established. With continued growth and expansion, in 1978, Northeast Window Products – today NEWPRO – was founded with emphasis on triple pane windows to support the demand for an energy efficient solution to an energy crisis. The company grew quickly and set up shop at the current location at 26 Cedar Street in Woburn, MA.
Mary continued to work at NEWPRO until late 2009 when she retired. She was the driving force for delivering a delightful experience to every homeowner NEWPRO touched. She demanded it. Daily, Mary would call customers during and after install to ensure an exceptional experience. Mary was the voice of NEWPRO. A MaryGram was developed with survey questions about the NEWPRO experience which was mailed to every homeowner who purchased from NEWPRO. Mary carefully reviewed each and every response, called every customer and with her genuine and sincere personality, turned many homeowners into friends. If there was the slightest sign of dissatisfaction, Mary would identify the problem and become the solution. Today, NEWPRO is still built on those same principles set by Mary and Anthony Cogliani in their window treatment shop in the basement of their home back in Medford.
Anthony Cogliani Jr., third generation, vice president of operations, manages and oversees the day to day operations of the organization, and ensures that a delightful experience is fulfilled to his grandmother's standards. Anthony ensures his sales teams, installers and customer service teams, as well as he and his dad, connect with every homeowner who installs NEWPRO in their home at the end of the install to ensure an exceptional experience and to learn what else could be done to uphold the highest level of service and product standards. The MaryGram principle still lives in everyone who touches a NEWPRO customer. Customers are still surveyed, and those surveys are still reviewed and responded to from the top of the company.
Mary continues to inquire about the business and enjoys a healthy life at 100 years old, filled with great memories and stories of the friends and families she has touched all over New England. NEWPRO receives many inquiries about Mary even today. We honor Mary as a pioneer in the customer service arena and for being a voice for so many years for our customers.
