The VWR Foundation Reaches Million Dollar Milestone

RADNOR, Pa., June 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The VWR Charitable Foundation, dedicated to giving back to the science community, celebrates a significant milestone in its mission to support science, surpassing $1 million in funds granted.   The VWR Foundation exceeded this milestone on May 21^st, awarding six grants to the Foundation's latest recipients, including Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Chicago, International AIDS Vaccine Initiative and San Diego Society of Natural History Balboa Park.

Established in 2009, the VWR Foundation has provided over 100 grants to more than 65 organizations and programs across the globe aligned with the VWR Foundation mission.   Grants provided by the VWR Foundation support a number of initiatives including funding of special exhibits at museums, hospitals, research, and specialized science curriculum in schools, universities and summer camps, among others.

Funding for these grants is generated through programs with VWR International, LLC.  Non-profit organizations based in the U.S., aligned with the VWR Foundation mission are encouraged to visit the VWR Foundation website to view granting guidelines.
