The WE tv Film Academy Teaches Women How To Video-Doc Their Own Fascinating Stories April 24-25 In NYC

NEW YORK, April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Thanks to YouTube, Facebook and the iPhone, people are sharing their everyday life moments through video more than ever. Have you ever wanted to share your stories but don't know how?  WE tv will teach people the art of short form video and how to document their own stories in the WE tv Film Academy, a new, instructional series offered by the popular network.  No previous filmmaking or expertise is required.  The classes will be offered at WE tv's Headquarters in New York City on April 24-25.

WE tv is widely-recognized as a leader in women's programming, and offers a particular focus on profiling women who tell fascinating stories.  The new WE tv Film Academy will teach attendees how to chronicle their own, fascinating stories sourced from their everyday lives.  An additional goal of the program is to create a pool of talented contributors to WE tv Networks' digital platforms to ultimately showcase compelling original content 24/7.    

Students can choose from a one or two day seminar.  The one day class, entitled "How to Shoot Great Video" focuses on how to shoot professional-quality video, camera use, an actual film shoot and insightful feedback of work.  The second day of classes concentrates on creating story-based videos.  In-depth instruction in editing, storytelling and self-critiquing will also be taught.  Finished works will be screened and group feedback will be provided by WE tv experts.  

Both days focus on short form production formats, which are the most popular for on-line and mobile content.  A major highlight of both days will be the WE tv Executive Presentation, where students will attend a lecture and engage in a Q&A session with top WE tv programming executives.  Participants will be invited to submit their work for acquisition consideration as WE tv's digital property.
