NEW YORK and SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 28, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Winthrop Group, Inc., a leader in history and archival services since 1982, announces a new West Coast Bureau to examine the history of companies and ventures at the forefront of technology and innovation in Silicon Valley and beyond. Highly customized, this program builds on Winthrop's experience supporting leading organizations and individuals to discover, preserve, and learn from their pasts while telling their stories more effectively.
To run the bureau, Winthrop welcomes the editor and writer Adam Fisher. The author of the critically-acclaimed Valley of Genius: The Uncensored History of Silicon Valley (2018), Mr. Fisher lives in the Bay Area and is a regular contributor to Wired, MIT Tech Review, and The New York Times Sunday Magazine.
At Winthrop, Mr. Fisher joins a West Coast team that includes senior historian and archivist Dr. Richard Hobbs, senior consultant and Professor of Family Business and Global Strategy Dr. Isabelle Lescent-Giles, legacy and high-net-worth family expert and storyteller Sonia Talati, and Dr. Michael Adamson, an expert in organizational history, public policy analysis, and litigation support.
"At this critical time, many technology companies recognize the power of their past," said Winthrop Director Dr. Stephen Chambers. "In practical terms, this can mean establishing a corporate archive or creating an authentic narrative history; it can also involve the development of a video, digital, or audio history program. At Winthrop, we believe that in areas such as communications, investor relations, recruitment, and leadership transitions, the past has the power to create a stronger foundation for the future."
