NEWPORT NEWS, Va., June 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dilon Diagnostics will introduce the latest advancement in molecular breast imaging (MBI) this week at the Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM) Meeting in San Antonio, Texas, with the premiere of its FDA-cleared Dilon 6800® Acella Gamma Camera system. To complement the already widely successful Dilon 6800® standard field-of-view imaging system, the new camera will feature a much larger MBI detector which will make Dilon the first company in the industry to offer customers a choice in detector sizes.

MBI, also referred to as Breast-Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI), is a functional imaging technique increasingly being used in the diagnostic workup of patients with indeterminate mammograms, particularly for those with dense breasts.
