NEW YORK, June 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- In just one week since online job-matching service TheLadders revealed its native iOS mobile app, "Job Search by TheLadders" has risen to top ranks on the App StoreSM, claiming the number-one spot in the "Free" and "Business" categories, and joining the "Top 50 Apps" overall. The industry-disruptive app, which surpassed pioneering giants including Facebook and Indeed, provides an unprecedented way to identify job matches on-the-go, discover new job opportunities, and retrieve information on the competition.

"While it's a great achievement and a testament to the hard work we put into developing our iOS mobile app, I am not surprised by the immediate success we've witnessed this past week," said TheLadders CEO & Co-founder Alex Douzet. "Although dozens of career apps exist, none of them were built with the on-the-go job seeker in mind. We have designed a clean, intuitive interface to streamline the job-matching experience for our nearly 6 million members, enabling them to be immediately discovered by our more than 40,000 employers."

Eliminating the need for keyword search, TheLadders' app instead delivers tailored job matches based upon members' profiles, expertise, and desired career moves. Adhering to its one-tap approach, job seekers are presented with a list of job matches to scroll through. When viewing a job they like, they can either tap the save icon to revisit it later, or tap the "thumbs-up" icon to "like" the position, which immediately alerts the hiring manager. Additionally, job listings are refreshed every time the mobile app is opened, ensuring that job seekers are privy to the newest listings.

The iPhone® app also includes "TheLadders Scout," a proprietary, competitive-analysis tool that arms potential applicants with self-reported information about fellow candidates in five categories: years of experience, education level, areas of expertise, current title, and current salary. With a quick swipe of a finger on the new job-discovery mechanism, job seekers will be able to view other jobs to which a specific applicant has applied.

TheLadders app is the latest achievement in the company's strategy to restructure its offerings with a mobile-first lens. Earlier this year, TheLadders updated its online platform to be mobile-responsive, and launched a nationwide event series, titled JobMobile, to recognize and celebrate innovations in mobile recruitment, which will continue on July 18th in Chicago.

"Job Search by TheLadders" is now available exclusively on the App Store. Additional information, including a white paper, can be found on TheLadders Blog.
