Theorem3 Advisors and Dr. Rebecca Palacios Take Bilingual Learning Beyond the Book
Theorem3 Advisors and Dr. Rebecca Palacios are launching a new initiative to help publishers extend the reach of children's books by creating bilingual resources and family-engagement programs for students in pre-K through first grade.
NEW YORK, Oct. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Theorem3 Advisors and early childhood educator Dr. Rebecca Palacios, Ph.D., NBCT, today announced an initiative to develop bilingual educational resources, family-engagement programs, and partnerships that extend children's books into homes, classrooms, and communities.
Building on their work as co-owners of Somos Uno LLC, publisher of The Ana Series, Ojakli and Palacios will help publishers, authors, literary estates, and intellectual property owners extend children's stories beyond the printed page. Their work will focus on educational resources, family-engagement initiatives, and partnerships with schools, libraries, and community organizations.
Expanding the Role of Children's Publishing
Children's books often reach families and classrooms without the educational resources or institutional partnerships needed to support continued learning. The initiative will help content owners extend their properties through bilingual materials, family activities, and programs developed with schools, libraries, and community organizations.
By treating children's books as starting points rather than stand-alone products, the initiative will connect new and existing publishing properties with resources and programs that invite families to participate more fully in children's learning.
"Publishers have created extraordinary stories and characters that resonate with generations of children," said Ojakli. "We believe those properties can have an even greater impact when connected to family engagement, bilingual education, and community partnerships. Our goal is to help publishers expand both the educational possibilities and commercial value of their content."
Bringing Educational Expertise Into Publishing Strategy
Dr. Palacios brings decades of experience as an early childhood educator, author, and National Teachers Hall of Fame inductee. Her work centers on culturally relevant education, strong home–school relationships, and the essential role of parents and caregivers as children's first teachers.
"Children's learning does not begin and end in the classroom," said Dr. Palacios. "Books can create meaningful opportunities for families to share experiences, build language skills, and connect with their children's education. We want to help publishers make those opportunities a more intentional part of their work."
The Ana Series: A Foundation for the Collaboration
The collaboration grows out of Ojakli and Palacios's work as co-owners of Somos Uno LLC, the educational publishing company behind The Ana Series.
Created by Dr. Palacios and published by Somos Uno, The Ana Series is a growing collection of English- and Spanish-language picture books for children in pre-K through first grade. Through familiar experiences involving family, school, reading, science, and community, the books demonstrate how children's literature can advance bilingual learning and family engagement.
Guided by the message "Rooted in Language, Culture, and Community," the series models the educational publishing approach that shapes this broader initiative.
An Invitation to Publishers, Authors, and Content Owners
Beyond The Ana Series, Theorem3 Advisors and Dr. Palacios will work with publishers, authors, literary estates, and other intellectual property owners seeking new educational applications for their content.
Areas of focus include:
- Family-engagement programs built around existing children's books and characters.
- Bilingual and culturally relevant educational content and learning resources.
- Partnerships with schools, libraries, early childhood organizations, and community institutions.
- Print and digital educational extensions that connect learning at home and in the classroom.
- Corporate and philanthropic partnerships supporting literacy and family education.
Together, these efforts are designed to create sustainable business opportunities at the intersection of publishing, education, and measurable community impact.
Creating Value Beyond the Printed Page
"We want to invite publishers to think differently about the long-term value of their intellectual property," said Ojakli. "A children's book can be the beginning of a larger relationship with families, educators, and communities. Rebecca and I bring complementary expertise to help develop those opportunities."
The initiative will engage publishing houses, educational organizations, and prospective institutional, corporate, and philanthropic partners interested in using children's literature to strengthen early learning and family engagement.
