ARCADIA, Calif., Oct. 24, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Theragent, a comprehensive cell & gene therapy CDMO focused on advancing next-generation cancer and rare disease treatments, announced that Brian Newsom will be joining the team as their new Vice President of Business Development effective October 16th, 2023. Mr. Newsom will join Theragent from his latest role as Senior Director of Business Development at KBI Biopharma.
Mr. Newsom brings with him a three-decade mix of both technical and business development experience within the cell therapy industry. After spending 15 years in technical roles at emerging biotech companies and academia, including Aastrom Biosciences, Baylor College of Medicine, and Opexa Therapeutics, he then held business development positions of increasing responsibility at Invitrogen, Life Technologies, Thermo Fisher Scientific and KBI Biopharma. He received his undergraduate degree in microbiology from Texas Tech University and his MBA from Texas A&M University.
