Three Accomplished IP Attorneys Join Haynes and Boone, LLP

DALLAS, May 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Responding to the growing intellectual property and trademark needs of U.S. and foreign clients, Haynes and Boone, LLP has added three experienced intellectual property partners – two in Washington, D.C. and one based in California who also practices in Washington, D.C.

The capabilities of the new partners - Philip G. Hampton II, Kimberley Chen Nobles and Bradley J. Olson - complement the nationally recognized talents of more than 50 IP litigation practitioners currently handling IP enforcement and defense in patent litigation as well as  trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigation and arbitration.

Haynes and Boone's IP litigation practice is particularly strong because of the group's close collaboration with the firm's other IP practitioners in patent prosecution, patent re-examination, technology transactions, and trademark prosecution, clearance and enforcement. 

The firm's new members, all moving from Dickstein Shapiro, bring considerable experience with an array of clients in Asia and Europe, especially Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai, Seoul, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Tokyo, Geneva, Sweden, Germany, Paris and London. And they will add to the firm's growing capabilities handling in-bound and out-bound work for international and domestic corporations.

Among the new partners is a former assistant commissioner of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), an arbitrator appointed by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) with international experience and credentials, and experienced attorneys who practice before the USPTO, U.S. district courts throughout the country, and the International Trade Commission (ITC).

The attorneys are:

• Philip G. Hampton, II will be resident in Washington, DC.  Formerly the assistant commissioner for trademarks at USPTO, Hampton headed the trademark office.  He has served  as an expert witness in more than 20 contested trademark cases and a special master in several patent infringement actions.  An MIT trained chemical engineer, Hampton brings a wealth of experience in patent and trademark litigation, patent and trademark counseling, trademark prosecution, and counseling with regarding to IP aspects of the Internet.
• Kimberley Chen Nobles moves to the Haynes and Boone office in Orange County, CA.  Ms. Nobles specializes in technology clients and represents companies worldwide in legal, technical, strategic planning and intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and related litigation. Nobles, with her vast experience, and exceptional language and technical skills, will allow the firm to increase its services to Asia, as well as Europe, particularly Germany and Sweden. She also has immense experience with International Dispute Resolution and Arbitration in Asia, Europe and the United States. Nobles brings with her a broad array of experience with Asian and European high-tech companies, the WIPO in Geneva and Singapore and other international regulatory bodies and organizations. Nobles is licensed in  both Washington, D.C. and California.
• Bradley J. Olson will be based in Washington, D.C. He is the current national chairman of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce of the United States with more than 2,300 corporate members, focuses on the biotechnology, biomedical and medical device fields. The addition of Mr. Olson will assist Haynes and Boone in expanding its representation of clients in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, and throughout Western Europe,  Mr. Olson represents European and U.S. clients in IP acquisition, licensing, arbitration and enforcement. He is well-experienced in patent litigation matters, including the handling of discovery, motion and trial practice.
