Three Respected Austin Attorneys Form Weisbart Springer Hayes LLP
New firm focuses on complex commercial litigation
AUSTIN, Texas, March 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Three well-known Austin attorneys have formed Weisbart Springer Hayes LLP, a new boutique law firm focusing on high-stakes business, technology, employment, and aviation litigation.
Each name partner in the firm has at least 20 years of courtroom experience at other Austin firms. All three attorneys view the move as a way to take their established practices and build client relationships based on their collective experiences, personal service and efficient management of the new firm.
"We have worked with and against each other in a wide range of matters over the years, and have each developed a healthy mutual respect," says firm co-founder Geoff Weisbart. "We also shared a desire to take advantage of the opportunities we saw in commercial litigation in Austin and other venues across the state and nation. We believe companies and individuals facing complex legal disputes will appreciate working with a more efficient, more experienced, and aggressive trial firm."
Weisbart, a founding partner of Austin's Hance Scarborough, is one of the state's most respected attorneys. He represents both defendants and plaintiffs in a wide range of business-related disputes, including extensive experience in class action, aviation, employment, tort and business litigation matters during the past 25 years.
Joining Weisbart as name partners in the firm are Julie Springer and Sherrard Lee (Butch) Hayes.
Springer provides extensive experience representing clients in all types of employment disputes in federal and state courts in Texas and throughout the U.S. Formerly with the Austin firm of Scott, Douglass & McConnico, Springer has tried numerous jury and non-jury trials to verdict, and is one of the few attorneys in Texas who is Board Certified in both Labor and Employment Law and Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Hayes is the former partner-in-charge of the Austin office for Fulbright & Jaworski, the largest law firm in Austin and one of the largest firms in the nation. He brings strategic business thinking to high-stakes commercial, technology and employment matters. Hayes has handled contested matters across the U.S. and has successfully tried a range of cases in Texas federal and state courts.
The firm has leased office space in Austin's new Block 21 project, a mixed-use development that includes The W Hotel and Condominiums as well as the KLRU Austin City Limits Theater.
Weisbart Springer Hayes is one of two "vanguard firms" selected by Pelorus Technology and their partner Microsoft Corporation® to utilize Caelus Law Firm Business Management prior to the Caelus worldwide public release in August. Caelus is revolutionary technology in the legal space that provides attorneys and their clients a significant performance edge in an increasingly competitive business environment, providing attorneys and their clients with significant benefits, including reduced expenses and more effective monitoring of the entire flow and selected metrics of each case.
Currently housed in temporary offices, Weisbart Springer Hayes plans to move into its new space in June. The firm's website can be found at www.wshllp.com.
