Thrilling Finish to Heroes Celebrity Golf Day with VPAR Live Golf Scoring

The 4th annual 'Heroes National Celebrity Golf Day' in association with YourGolfTravel.com was held at the stunning 300 acre Buckinghamshire parkland estate of Stoke Park. With the rain of last year but a distant memory, the sun was out and spirits were high amongst the guests and plethora of celebrities including ambassadors Dan Walker and Georgie Bingham. The event raises money in aid of Help for Heroes and yet again generated a phenomenal amount of money for this fantastic cause.
For the second year running, the scoring was provided by VPAR Live Golf Scoring. The revolutionary and world leading live scoring solution, allows players to follow a real-time leaderboard on handheld scorepads setting up a nail biting finale for those on the course, spectators in the clubhouse and supporters live online.
After some excellent entertainment from Paul Barrington, former World Golf Trick Shot Champion, play commenced. Honours were fairly even after 9 holes with no one really making a strong claim for top spot.
It wasn't until the 16th that two teams emerged at the top of the leaderboard. Team Montreux with the presence of Sir Matthew Pinsent and Team 7 Management, with Jodie Kidd as their celebrity team mate, were neck and neck at -13 and had created some distance between themselves and the chasing pack. The pressure was mounting.
Both teams knew they needed a strong finish as they closely followed each other's progress live on their scorepads. In the end, despite a blistering personal best round from Sir Matthew Pinsent of 78, which he tweeted to the world, it was too much.
Team Montreux only managed 4 points on the 17th, meaning 7 Management knew they had a 2 shot cushion going down the last and finished in style to clinch the trophy.
