TIBCO Collaborates with Amazon Web Services to Deliver Serverless Integration Solutions

Integration of TIBCO Solutions with AWS Lambda and AWS Marketplace to Drive Innovation in Microservices and Application Connectivity

PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- TIBCO Software Inc., a global leader in integration, API management, and analytics, today announced it is collaborating with Amazon Web Services (AWS), to deliver next-generation serverless integration offerings. TIBCO is the first integration vendor to offer support for AWS Lambda Serverless Compute by creating Functions-as-a-Service (FaaS) with its ultralight edge microservices framework, open-source Project Flogo®. In addition to this collaboration, customers can now consume TIBCO BusinessWorks™ Container Edition and Plug-ins from AWS Marketplace, making it the first integration product on AWS Marketplace to provide a truly containerized and elastic, consumption-based pricing model. The integration of these products with AWS's offerings complement the TIBCO Connected Intelligence Cloud, with the goal of supporting customers on their digital journeys.

Flogo flows as functions are specifically designed to take advantage of the serverless capabilities offered by AWS Lambda, enabling the execution and scaling of functions with high availability and zero administration. This combination allows customers to significantly reduce both function development time to market and operating costs, while also providing portability across IoT edge devices or AWS Lambda without changes to application code.

In addition to support for AWS Lambda, the seamless provisioning of TIBCO BusinessWorks Container Edition and Plug-ins from AWS Marketplace provides a truly cloud-native experience in terms of technology and pricing. This offering allows customers to quickly and easily build cloud-native applications and run them on AWS, leveraging native features of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) Container Service (ECS) or their choice of Docker-based Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) built on AWS. Customers will only pay for the number of containers running per hour, providing them with enterprise integration capabilities coupled with the flexibility to scale on demand and manage software costs as they go.
